Eagles Information!

Davie Eagles is the Special Olympics Cheer Squad in Davie County NC. The team was started by my, then 15 year old daughter, Savannah. We both became Certified Level II Special Olympics Cheer Coaches in October of 2007. We started with only 6 members, went to competition with only 4 and won Bronze Medals in their first ever State Competition. This year, we have grown to 13 cheerleaders! We practice every Friday from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Davie Family YMCA and are very excited about implementing stunts into our routine this year!
We are always excited to welcome new cheerleaders and even have our first male this year! If you know of a special needs person, 8 years old and up, and living in the Mocksville, NC area that would like to join us, please have them or their caretaker to call me at 336-753-1161.


I encourage all citizens to "be a fan" of the Special Olympics events going on in your community. These are some amazing and amazingly talented athletes that always give their all and show the most awesome sportsmanship I have ever witnessed. All events are free to spectators and your support means the world to them. If you would like to attend our 2009 State Competition, it will be held on March 7th at the Calvary Baptist Gym on the corner of Peacehaven and Country Club Roads in Winston-Salem, NC! Please check the above website for the times and more information... as the basketball tournament is also held that weekend, if that is more your sport!
